I have come to wonder why in this so called computer age is it, that because most things are done on the pc in the comfort of your warm home, the in-store old fashioned way of buying things really have become a thing of a unhappy time. Its in your face to BUY BUY BUY! Trying to rip us off at every opportunity.
However, the sloppy service for the in-store customer is non-existent , you’ll be lucky if you have a person come up to you and say good morning etc.. They just stand there waiting to pounce like a cat on a dirty mouse to be toyed with. With their smug faces trying to fob you off with insurance that cost half as much as the item. Then you have to wait weeks for the damn thing to be delivered! Furniture 10 weeks! Kitchen appliances 2 weeks if your lucky. Then when you get them they fail to work or live up to the ‘shop window’ standards, forget trying to get a human being on the phone to take care of you problems.
Here is a scenario, Take mobile phones for instance, they are so advanced now im feel im falling behind and missing out on something! The new must have ipad, iphone, anything with an i at the beginning forget it! Its just expensive crap that conks out within a year. Gotta get that new APP its the best yet… it DOODLES for you …O M G wow wait i might just CRAP MY PANTS. Gimmicks for the kids. . Maybe in getting old and dont appreciate new technology but i have tried the touch pad gadgets and I fail to see the excitement. These are the new toys that young kids want and they get … then the parents have t0 pay their bills! I got a new phone and it was fairly basic i just needed it to have a damn good camera…. It was taken back to the shop within a couple of weeks, and the sales rep/boy tried his best to make it better by switching to a new sim card telling me that was the problem. Also changed my tariff to make free calls. This so called tariff did not get changed i was still paying for the calls/texts. OK I got it home then could not receive ANY txts. Well, before throwing the bloody phone to the end of the garden where it belonged, I took it back again to the shop, (Bearing in mind the parking charges having to do this)… he said “well, this phone is now 29 odd days old, I cant”…….! what? wait a minute! So, after 10 mins of throwing a fit at him he said OK. OK have your money back. So im now back with my old faithful. And im sure he was glad see the back of me. But, at the same time, next to me was a man who had just come in to moan about the same problem too! Good luck to anyone with the ‘new technology’ and no ‘I don’t give a shit’ after care!
I demand good service where ever I go! Look, I know you probably hate your day jobs, dealing with the sometimes very miserable public. But, were all human and im sure you would NOT want to be treated as a non-person in a shop would you? So look lively, put you gum away, and watch out for ME!
